This store is great! It’s a small business that strives in providing customers with good quality and well taken care of cameras/products.

They have well priced film and other unique film stocks that are good for photographers and beginners to learn and try. Never heard of Amber or Psych Blues until I found them at this store.

The customer service is knowledgeable, great and very welcoming. They really help make the store feel comfortable and not intimidating like most camera stores.

I highly recommend this spot!!

Reviews are something I don’t usually write unless I feel a place has been above and beyond to make an experience memorable. I’ve been coming here for only a few months now and the staff has helped me countless times with choosing film, cameras and etc. The photos are all developed from their lab and using the cameras and film from their shop. Everything I’ve gotten has been in perfect condition and the lab is always so quick and timely to send perfect scans. Definitely a 10/10 would recommend coming if you haven’t yet and don’t feel afraid to ask questions because the staff has been very knowledgeable and friendly! Can’t wait to keep coming back!

First off, I love walking into this store and being greeted by the friendly staff. I love having a local shop where I can pick up fresh and specialty rolls of film.

Recently I dropped off a roll of Kodak Gold 200 to get developed. Their processing and turnaround time was exceptional. The medium quality choice is reasonably priced and the results were impressive. Attached is a photo from the roll.

The reason I am docking them one star is simply due to the store's price point. Their collection of cameras is vast and inspiring. I would love to pick up a camera from them to support a local business and mission if some of their product's prices were slightly lower. Especially when similar or the exact same cameras are sold online for much less.

I am looking forward to returning for fresh film rolls and development.

My last straw was pulled multiple times this year from what used to be my favorite film lab.

Earlier this year, I attended the Long Beach Grand Prix and captured some precious moments that will never see the light of day because Relics lost the two rolls I shot at the event. No follow up and no apologies. A first from them for me so I gave them a pass, but it stung. After some time went on, I noticed that I wasn’t receiving my scans for the rolls I sent in.

I reached out with multiple calls, texts, emails, Instagram messages over a three week period until finally receiving a response through Instagram. They tried to excuse themselves and state that I only dropped off one of the three rolls that day, but I am 100% positive that I did as that was the only reason I left my house - was to drop off three rolls of film at Relics. And I’m not the only one this has happened to — I’ve had friends share the same experience.

I just came back to the store today to pick some negatives that I dropped off just over two weeks. The last time, I was there was to check on another pair of negatives that they also threw out and I was told by the owner that they would be holding onto to the negatives longer than their two week period. Well that wasn’t true as I was just two weeks and two days from dropping off my film with them. The film that was dropped off to replace the order they lost.

Now that I have my frustrations out, I think that Relics does a great job at developing, scanning, and extracting the best colors out of consumer films (Kodak Gold, ColorPlus, etc), but not so much from professional stock films (Portra). I just wish that they took their work more seriously and did more to offer the film community, which I feel they severely lack on doing.

The worker up front helped me so much. Just bought a Pentax ME Super. I’ve been looking for a film camera and going here was awesome as he answered my infinite amount of questions and even gave me mini tutorials how certain cameras work as I was super confused. Super grateful thank you!

This little film shop is a gem in Long Beach. For the longest time I’ve been driving 30 minutes away to get my film developed and buy film. Relics is very close to where I live, so yesterday I stopped by Relics to try out their film development and scan service and I am so beyond happy with how everything turned out. The pictures were developed beautifully and quickly. I dropped my roll off yesterday evening and got my photos back today around 1pm. So fast. When I went to drop off my roll of film, I brought one of my cameras with me that’s been broken for a while. I had gotten estimates prior for how much it would cost to fix it ranging from $150-300 dollars. I asked the associate working there about it, and they were able to figure out what was wrong with it and fix it immediately on the spot. I am so happy with my experience. I’ll be frequenting Relics for all of my film and photo needs. Highly recommend.

I brought in a Kodak Stereo camera I purchased from an estate sale for a diagnostic to see if it worked on June 10, 2022. I never received a call/follow-up, so I emailed and called and have STILL not received an update or my camera back. At this point, I just want it back whether it works or not.

This place is truly a relic. I love the juxtaposition of vintage cameras they have available for purchase mixed in with gallery vibes. They provide services such as developing and scanning photos. Jamie has helped me on numerous occassions. Let's keep establishments like this thriving by taking photos.
