Wow - what a place! Have you ever walked into the store and began literally shaking with excitement?

The vintage nook is practically a museum in its own right.

Walls and walls full of new and used gear. Prices are perfectly reasonable and inline with online prices.

My only regret is not being wealthy enough to walk out with a trunk full of lenses.

I actually bought the cheapest $25, used "as is" lens I could find. And I was treated just as well as the people next to me, buying thousands in gear. I really appreciated that too.

Was in the store today to get advice on an old Nikon D40 I started using again after almost 20 yrs. The woman who assisted me was very friendly and helpful. Taught me some things about my camera. I didn't need to purchase anything today, but if I do need camera accessories in the future, I will support this store. It was a very good experience.

This was my first visit to a legit camera store since being bitten by the photography bug 5 years ago and I was not disappointed. Don't let the look of a small store from outside fool you. This place is packed full of new, used, and rental gear and the layout is nice. They have film supplies, digital cameras, a large used lens selection, lighting, modifiers, tripods, and the list goes on. The staff was very helpful as I was looking to get some information on an old Speedotron Black flash system I picked up. My only negative comment is they did not have any Murphy Camera stickers for my tripod. LoL....Murphy Camera....if you read this....I need a sticker. ? If you are in the Louisville area you should definitely stop in and see them.

Recently got into film cameras, have been coming almost every week, and this place is a gem. Every one working is so educated and passionate about cameras and photography. I’ve brought in film to be scanned, I’ve purchased accessories, even have brought secondhand purchased older cameras to assess. It’s a rarity to go into a shop fully staffed by experts nowadays but that exactly what it’s like shopping at Murphys. Can’t recommend enough.

I was at Murphy’s yesterday (6/23), and had the most LOVELY experience. The workers there are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They don’t pressure you to shop outside of your price range, and are willing to answer any questions you have regardless of how simple. I left with a beautiful Leica C Lux that was a great deal and I have absolutely loved it thus far. 11/10 recommend making your way over to Murphy’s for ALL photography and videography needs!

Bought a lens that was hoping had an autofocus motor for my Nikon D5000. I’m very new to photography and was hoping on a little help! The guy who helped me did not give me any information and this lens only works in manual focus for my camera. Can I get one person who actually knows the items they are actually selling? Everyone is just getting hired at places and no one knows how to sell!

I was shopping for a specialty tripod for Astrophotography. On a lark I walked into Murphy’s to see if they had anything that would accommodate a tracking and counterweight, camera /telescope rig. A gentleman waited on me within a minute as I looked through the new tripods for a good fit. Nothing seemed to fit the bill. Then tucked away from the display I noticed an Astro-tripod, he explained it had been traded in and had been marked down. I looked at the tripod, it was as good as new. I then looked at the tag with the marked down price. My jaw dropped! The price of that tripod allowed in my budget for this hobby to upgrade from a simple tracking mount to a Go-To mount and heavier telescope. The tripod is heavy duty! Once aligned it will automatically point and track any celestial body in the night sky! Forget Craigslist Forget FB Marketplace, if you’re looking for a bargain on quality new or gently used photography equipment of any kind, make sure your first stop is Murphy’s!
