If you're a photographer visiting Columbus, stop by this place. The staff is amiable, approachable, and knowledgeable, especially Luis Gutierrez. He helped me find the best product to meet my needs while staying within budget. I had a great experience ordering from their eBay, Amazon, and web stores, but visiting them in person was even better.

Midwest Photo was great! I had the pleasure of working with Jeff and he helped me with all of my needs. I am very new to photography and he answered all of my questions with knowledge and ease. I came in thinking I wanted a 35mm lens and through discussing what I wanted out of the lens, he helped me figure out the 14-35mm was the best choice for what I wanted to use it for. Very happy with my purchase of a 14-35mm f/2.8 GM in great condition. He also helped me when I called earlier in the week about sending the photos from my Sony alpha 6100 to my phone which saved me a lot of trouble. He helped me immensely and the whole experience at this store was awesome.

Went in looking for an older EF mount L lens. The only one available was the display model, which I was offered. Maybe 5% was taken off from retail, and it ended up costing the same as buying new from Canon's website. I thought it was a deal at the time since I didn't realize Canon themselves had just discounted it. I still decided to purchase it after inspection since I was using a gear stipend from my employer. Otherwise, I would never buy new (open box in this case).

What upset me was how poor the customer service was. When making such a large purchase, you would think the employees would be more compassionate or provide advice about your options. My experience felt like a money making exchange with indifference from the employee checking me out. I felt rushed into making the decision.

Additionally, since I was traveling without my camera, I didn't have a way to test the lens. I got no assurance the lens had been tested and they didn't even fully clean the lens before selling it. I am from Ohio but live in NM currently, so I expressed concerns about the 2 week return policy and got no empathy in return.

Overall, poor pricing and compassion from the employees.

Wonderfully knowledgeable, helpful, and good natured staff who will offer great ideas and options for solving your needs. Plus they have a terrific inventory. Plus they offer a ton of services, from rentals to print services. I find people in the Midwest to be nice as a general rule. Midwest Photo? The name says it all: nice people who will spend time with you to get you set up with what you need. Shout out to Tom!
