One of the very few remaining small Mom & Pop camera stores in NY. Jimmy Koh is honest and a pleasure to deal with. I have been using him for my photographic needs for over 20 years. He has shorten his hours considerable as he is getting a little older and wants to enjoy a little more time off. Therefore, I would suggest calling for his hours before travelling to see him. Jimmy is also a treasure trove of knowledge when it come to the classic and vintage cameras. When Jimmy finally decides to retire I will be so disappointed as no other camera store I have ever purchased from has been as fair and honorable. I highly recommend Koh's Camera.

Old fashioned local camera store , had an appointment to meet sales staff for a couple of needed items , discuss trade in values (if any) of some gear . I've been a customer since the late 1970's . Kohl's has been my 1st choice store for all my gear . I try to shop local , good for store - good for local economy. . . Thanks Mr Koh for your being there all this time.
BTW - he has some great 'vintage' cameras for sale also !

I recently made a purchase at Koh’s store mainly because Jimmy had what I wanted at a fair price, and because of the store’s excellent reviews.
My purchase was a used Leica Elmarit 24mm lens advertised in mint condition.
Before using the lens at home, I noticed a very small scratch on the front that escaped my notice and apparently Jimmy’s. I used Hoodman’s Wet/Dry cloths to clean the lens hoping the scratch might be just dirt. An area on the lens looked like the coating around the scratch had been removed. What actually happened was the cleaner migrated through the scratch(crack) to the inside of front element. This was verified by The Leica Store, NYC by examination.
I’m writing this review to warn other buyers to examine their purchase very carefully and not trust the ad. My mistake was not looking through the rear element in the store, and would have easily noticed the defect.
When I phoned today, Mr Koh was totally unsympathetic and blamed me for using a cleaner and denied there was any defect at the time of purchase. He offered no compensation and said goodbye.
I am hoping Mr. Koh, an otherwise honorable man, will reconsider and act appropriately.

I’ve been a customer of Jimmy for at least 35 years. Jimmy serviced my Rollei SL66’s and lenses for years and sometimes performed complex repairs deep inside one of the most complex cameras ever made. Jimmy never let me down! Also Jimmy services my Leica bodies, Hasselblad SWC/M an Rollei TLR.

My Nikon had been knocked to the floor at the airport and the lens was damaged. When I got around to replacing it--the day before my next trip-- I called Koh's to find out if they were open. They were not, but Mr. Koh was there working and told me I could come in anyway. He checked out the camera and set me up with a new lens. What a wonderful experience! Thank you!
