Went there to look for a lens, online says they were open. Struggled to understand where the shop was due to no signage, but everything was locked up? I assume they're out of business so if they are this review won't hurt anything, if I'm wrong, that's shitty of them.

Great customer service, great return policy, a real personal touch. I bought from them off of an eBay listing. There was a small problem with the order and when I called in about it Chris did everything he could to make it right... including offering me a great deal on a camera he hadn't listed yet. I highly recommend looking at this place first for any vintage film camera need.

They use to be the "go to" people for photography equipment in the Muncie area...they no longer have the inventory they once had and the only thing I think that keeps them in business are the dedicated local photographers and the local university. It was an awesome place to buy equipment at one time. The salespeople are wonderful. "Woody" was an awesome guy to talk technical stuff with. There were a few other guys that were just as cool too. Sherry was really cool and helpful. Not sure if these people are still there but nevertheless they helped make the store the success it is. I buy mostly used items now (especially higher priced lenses and bodies) but I check there website and there is really nothing. I would suggest KEH camera or Robert's for used. If you want to BUY and KNOW how to operate new or used equipment, go to Jack's - they are TOPS in my book.

I’ve never left a google review for anywhere but Jack’s Camera Shop is definitely deserving of all five stars and then some. I walked in to the shop today with the intention of buying a film camera (as I’ve only used DSLR) and left with both the camera and a great experience. The shop was very welcoming and the owner (?) was very kind and knowledgeable. He showed me all aspects of the camera and answered any questions I threw his way and went out of the way to demonstrate the features of the camera that I wasn’t familiar with. We also discussed my DSLR camera and what lenses I might be looking for in the future (as my capabilities are lacking but I wasn’t sure exactly what to get to get what I needed). I was struck by the way he gave his genuine opinion and guidance and did not try to push any products on me or “extras”. This place is amazing and I will most definitely be taking my camera questions and business here while I’m in Muncie!

My husband and I are in the photography business and were doing the photography and videography for a wedding this past Saturday in Eaton at Meg's Country Celebrations. We always rent any equipment we need from Roberts in downtown Indianapolis; they are wonderful. Anyway, I stopped in your store to try to buy a small part that we were missing for our video set-up. I had several pictures of what I was looking for on my phone that my husband had sent me (he is the tech guru, I am more of the assistant). First, I was shocked that the door was locked and it said to call or knock on the door for assistance. A friendly blonde-haired woman with glasses came to greet me. When I showed her the pictures of what I was looking for, she said she would have to ask someone else. A very disgruntled older gentleman appeared from the back. He did not greet me and said verbatim "I need to have a sip of coffee before I look at anything, that is way more important at the moment." I am pretty sure my jaw dropped to the floor. He barely looked at my pictures and told me he didn't carry it. I then turned around to leave, appalled, and was LOCKED OUT! Neither of them helped me while I struggled to open the door.

Honest folks selling quality equipment. I bought a used Leica from them which turned out to have a faulty meter. When I told them, they immediately gave me a partial refund to pay for the cost of having the meter fixed, with no hassle whatsoever. A really nice and pleasant experience.

One of the last of its kind. Jack's has been there for many decades and is still the best local camera shop I know. New and used equipment, personal service and advice, and they still sell and custom process film! Stop in for a fun non-scrapbooking-focused experience.
