I wanted to test out a speedlight for an upcoming indoor event i was shooting but wasn't ready to dtop $$$ on the item yet...After a quick Google search i came across District Camera's Arlington location. I was so surprised how quick, easy, and reasonable it was to rent equipment! The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. The store itself was amazing, stocked with so many useful gadgets for all your photography needs. I'll definitely be returning in the future!

The camera bag I bought at Fairfax Drive is fine. However it was a clearly used bag that I picked from the used bin, but was charged full price. After realizing my mistake, I brought it back one week later and explained the situation. They wouldn't take it back or reduce the price because it "looked used". I did nothing with it except put it on my shelf and take it back one week after purchase, figuring we would get it sorted out. I was hoping to just pay a price appropriate for a used bag. I would have been happy with store credit and said so. They did give me a $5 refund for the other used bag I bought along with this one. But I essentially paid $25 for a used bag that normally retails for $30. Or, I paid full price for a used bag and got a $5 bag for free, depending on how you look at it. I like this shop and staff. They are normally friendly and helpful and I will continue to shop there. I think this was an honest mistake made at the time of purchase. I'm just disappointed in this interaction. Maybe it's my fault for not paying enough attention when I paid. I will be more careful next time I buy something.

I highly recommend District Camera! I placed an order for passport-sized photos, and while USPS lost them in transit, Larry from District Camera went above and beyond by hand-delivering the photos when I was at risk of my embassy application being canceled. Their dedication to customer service is outstanding. They truly deserve recognition for their exceptional service. Keep shining!

I visit District Camera and Imaging for their film developing services and every time I go in, the employees are so kind, knowledgeable, and PATIENT! I dont know ANYTHING about film, but I love it so much and I can see that they share that love with me in their client experience. They are always ready to answer any and all my questions and always deliver my images back to me in an orderly fashion.

Great experience with District Camera and Imaging in Arlington! Was able to trade in an old film camera and they gave me a fair price for it. Was able to then trade it for a camera that’s long been on my bucket list! Great staff and super friendly. Highly recommend!

Great rental prices! Support local. The gentleman who helps with rentals, Ken, is really thoughtful and thorough and even asked me how the shoot went. I really appreciate that. I rented a Sony 70-200 GM for a better price than the online rental conglomerates— without the wait. The staff are really knowledgeable and passionate and it is fun to talk with people at camera shops. In a world of anonymity and transactional faceless delivery — this place shines as a jewel of authenticity. We are blessed with some really great local photo shops in D.C. Over my 20 years here, the city itself has become a meaner and meaner place, but spots like these keep it feeling like a friendly home. Long love this great shop. Thanks, Ken!
