I recently purchased a camera and the owner was totally on hand to provide genuine guidance and advise from start to finish. Bought a vintage Pentax lens from this shop. Great communication and the lens is in fantastic condition considering it is almost 50 years old! Good price too! Many many thanks, I love vintage lenses, they remind me of when I was a boy taking up photography, I will use this a lot!

Travelled an hour to buy a lens from a "different" shop local to Bass and Bligh, only to find out it was damaged. As I wasn't from the area, I didn't even know Bass and Bligh existed until someone told me to have a look in there. Wow! If your looking for optical and photographic equipment, this is the place you want to go to! The shop is small but honestly, if they don't have what you need, it's probably not worth having. Wall to wall with stock. Friendly service and fair prices as well. I will certainly be returning when I next want to you another lens, but for now, I'm going to enjoy my new to me Sigma 16mm F1.4. Many thanks for the stellar service.

I bought a pair of used Leica binoculars from this shop yesterday and couldn’t fault the service I received; knowledgeable, helpful, friendly - and patient! An excellent range of binoculars to choose from but no sales pressure whatsoever. Could I have saved a bit by buying online? Possibly, but not a lot, and the value of being able to compare multiple pairs and get advice from someone who really knows what they’re talking about far outweighs any meagre saving. A business that’s definitely worth patronising and which we’re very fortunate to have in Harrogate.

Excellent service and price. Friendly, knowledgeable staff who couldn't have done any more to help. My binoculars arrived safely 2 days later and I'm very happy with them.
