Art's Cameras Plus - Greenfield, Wisconsin

We have an arts based community center and called the week before we needed to rent cameras for our youths Urban Engineering Community Development Photo Gallery. We were told by phone that we could rent any amount of cameras and lenses and that cameras were available... of course you cannot see anyones COLOR by phone.

Upon entering, the employee who I believe's name was Jeff was completely and utterly condescending. He told us immediately that they do not rent in volumes. They could not rent 4 cameras at a time. When I informed him we have a non-profit and we called last week, he said oh let me see what I can do. As he was talking to an employee and "searching for solutions" I ran to the restroom for all of maybe 5 minutes. Upon returning, he was helping another customer and his tone was completely different than his tone with my cousin and I, both brown women while the customer was an older white man.

Another employee came and asked if she could help us and he basically told her he was already helping us and made us stand there and wait for him although other employees could have helped or started setting us up in their system... or anything because he was dragging his feet. After 40 minutes of him telling us he could not help us and him dragging his feet finally he said let me enter you in the system and said it is a $1,000 deposit as we never did business with them. Fine, no issue I handed him our card and gave him all our info. I asked him how long would this be as our development walk was at 12:30PM, he proceeded to be argumentative saying we should have reserved by phone not just called but also followed-up, we should have been more proactive -- I said, You stated you couldn't even help us at first.

All in all, I will say this employee was completely prejudice in his approach and his tone was out of line to us the entire time even raising his voice. I never once raised my voice and just informed him his energy was different with me vs other customers.

When I asked him to lower his voice with me, He told us they will not rent to us and we will have to figure something else out.

Great job supporting black and brown youth Arts Cameras Plus.

You never left a number to contact you. Your employee has given you a false narrative of how this situation went down, feel free to check cameras.

ON ANOTHER NOTE, glad our center was able to support black and brown photographers today as entrepreneurs whom we contracted for this program. Our gallery night is Friday and despite your employees attempts to ruin our project it will be a success. BLESSINGS.

I recently needed to get an extra battery for my DSLR and found that another camera store nearer to me didn't have it. Because I needed this sooner than ordering, I called Art's. They quickly answered my question and confirmed they had it. Even offered to set me up with a drive through pickup. I wanted to see the place so I declined. I talked with Geneva who provided amazing service. She was very friendly, eager to help and was extremely knowledgeable about what I needed as well as other needs I might have in the future. I enjoyed the experience so much, I came back a week later to buy some needed accessories and upgrade my camera bag. This time I worked with Meg and received the SAME GREAT SERVICE! The other sales people there were also very pleasant and friendly while I was there. Contrast that to the other camera store that is closer to me where it always seems like I'm bothering them. From now on, I'm making the drive to Art's for all my photography equipment! Thanks, Art's!

I was beyond pleased with my rental experience from Arts Cameras Plus. I was in a pinch last minute to rent a lens for a trip to Alaska since the company I ordered the lens from sent me the Nikon version and I ordered the Canon version. I had one day to find a rental. The manager, Pete was so helpful and quick to get me set up with an equivalent lens even though all their rentals were out with an air show going on. He rented me a try before you buy for a very affordable, comparable price. The lens was everything I hoped for and more for the wildlife I was photographing in Alaska. I will absolutely be back and I will send all my photography friends to this great store! 10/10 recommend using Arts Camera Plus. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff!

Art's Camera Plus is a terrific establishment in Greenfield, WI. Whether photography is your passion, hobby, or overall expertise, this is the place for you.

I found Art's about a month ago -- I needed a e-mount Nifty Fifty and was able to stroll right in and pick one up (with a rebate no less). Then I was introduced to their AWESOME rental program, fair pricing and great selection.

I needed a 200-600 for the Chicago Air and Water Show, and they were able to hook me up for the weekend, got some great photos out of it, and it helps to work with a local business that you can collaborate with, rather than another online tank.

Thanks again to Pete and Meg. I will certainly spend paychecks here!

Had a great experience here. The employees are very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. I am a casual photographer and made the mistake of searching online before buying a camera. I currently have a t6i and decided to buy an r8 from them. The camera was great, but it wasn’t a good fit for me. Returning it was simple and the employee that helped me was very kind and understanding. He recommended an r50 instead which I will consider.

I am also very happy to have gotten a camera strap here. My old strap was very inconvenient to take on and off the camera. I remove the strap whenever I finish taking pictures to connect it to my computer for video calls. The maglink strap makes it so much easier!

Photography equipment and gear can be expensive. I prefer to spend wisely.
Reading and watching online reviews gives me little confidence and doesn’t compare to experiencing equipment. Unlike big box stores and online retailers, Art’s offers the opportunity to apply their expertise (or just try something new) by renting lenses and bodies. Having access to the best suited equipment, with minimal expense, has elevated my photography and love for it tremendously. Together with fantastic people, classes, fair prices and a great selection, Art’s truly is the best.

I have Had my photo projects printed at Art’s for over ten years now and am incredibly pleased with the results. My work is highly detailed and my requests involved; Becky and the lab do an amazing job making sure I get the results I need. I could not ask for better service and results.

Really enjoy the great selection of film stock, although I’m not particularly impressed with their scanning & developing. I usually work with other labs although I wanted to give Arts a try. Seems to be significantly lower quality & resolution. Supposed to be 2600dpi, though I have scans that are 600dpi & significantly higher quality. Many photos taken on the same camera, same film, same settings, and at the same time have different color hues. Not sure why that is.
